Parkinson’s Support Group Seminar
WITH WORLD LEADING EXPERT SPEAKERS
Professor Simon Lewis, Professor of Cognitive Neurology & the Director of the Parkinson’s Disease Research Clinic at Macquarie University Health, will chair a Seminar and Q&A on the “smart” therapies for advanced Parkinson’s disease.
Our speaker is Associate Professor Florin Gandor, a Neurologist and Movement Disorders Specialist at Macquarie University Hospital. His presentation will cover the “smart” therapies for advanced Parkinson’s disease, offering attendees a clear and accessible understanding of treatment options beyond pills, including apomorphine infusion, foslevodopa infusion (Vyalev), intestinal levodopa gel therapy (DuoDopa), deep brain stimulation, and MR-guided focused ultrasound.
Currently, in Australia, 1,550 people will hear that they have Parkinson’s Disease this month and 219,000 are currently living with the disease. It is now more common than breast, lung and prostate cancer.
The seminar will be benefit those living with the disease and their carers, allied health professionals, supporting hospital and nursing staff, GPs and Neurologists, and government bodies supporting this disease.
