National Walk Safely to School Day
BETTER HEALTH, IMPROVED ROAD SAFETY & CLEANER AIR
Now in its 27th year, National Walk Safely to School Day (WSTSD) is an annual event when all Primary School children will be encouraged to walk and commute safely to school.
Research shows children who are active before school are more focused, more productive and perform better in the classroom.
The day also encourages reduced car use, less congestion around schools and greater use of public and active transport.
In NSW, the campaign is supported by Transport for NSW, with Woolworths helping promote school participation.
Schools and P&Cs are encouraged to Host a Healthy Breakfast, with vouchers available as incentives.
DATE: Friday 22 May
Local school plans with vary.
