Let’s Tackle Gambling Harm
THE INAUGURAL EVENT OF THE NORTHERN BEACHES GAMBLING REFORM ALLIANCE
The Northern Beaches Gambling Reform Alliance is a newly-formed group of Northern Beaches locals, from different walks of life, with a shared hope for a future without gambling harm.
This forum will bring together lived experience, frontline insight, and public conversation around one of the most serious but often overlooked causes of harm in Australia.
Join us to hear from Andy Hope, who is walking 15,000km around Australia with his dog Scrubby to raise awareness of gambling harm after a lifetime battling addiction, and Rev. Jon Owen, CEO of Wayside Chapel, who will share from the frontlines on the harms caused by gambling, especially amongst vulnerable and marginalised Australians, including those directly impacted by pokies and addiction.
The evening will also include a panel discussion with our guest speakers and local MPs, exploring what meaningful reform could look like and how our community can be part of the solution.
We believe gambling harm is not just a private issue. It affects families, relationships, mental health, finances, and the wellbeing of whole communities. This forum is for anyone who wants to better understand the issue, hear powerful personal stories, and be part of a growing movement for change on the Northern Beaches.
