FOR THE FIFTH ANNUAL HAVE YOUR SAY DAY
Have Your Say Day is a youth-led program that provides an annual platform for young people across the Northern Beaches to engage directly with elected leaders, youth sector professionals and community members on important topics impacting them.
Student leaders from local high schools form the Beaches Leadership Team (BLT) and coordinate the program with support from Northern Beaches Council.
Have Your Say Day has four main components:
- Survey Engagement (March – April): BLT members lead the promotion of a youth survey, which encourages young people aged 12 to 24 to report on the challenges and concerns faced by young people in the Northern Beaches.
- Survey Analysis (April – May): BLT leaders attend a workshop led by The Office for Youth to analyse survey results, build advocacy skills and prepare solutions focused presentations
- Presentation Night (Wednesday 20 May): BLT leaders present on key issues raised in the survey, followed by an open Q&A
- Have Your Say Day Report (June – July): A 2026 Report is published and made available on Council website with a summary of survey findings and transcripts from the presentation night.
