Daring Dip & Donate 2024
Do you dare to have a Winter Dip while raising money for the Cancer Council? Head to BYRA Sailing & Aquatic Club on August 25th to Dip, swim & donate.
BYRA, located in Bayview, has a long history of supporting community events and is delighted to host this event. It will feature a high-tide quick dip or an option to swim 50m or 100m in the calm waters off the club. Afterwards, brave dippers can enjoy a BBQ on BYRA’s waterfront deck, where we will award fun prizes.
This community event is open to all; we expect to have 100+ dippers. The cost has been kept low at $15 for an individual and $25 per family or household to ensure it appeals to as many people as possible. The ticket also includes donating to the charity connected to this event, Cancer Council Daffodil Day, a lovely hot shower at BYRA and a warming cup of tea.
Not daring enough to dip? No problem! You are welcome to spectate only but expect ribbing from those who take the cold(ish) water plunge!
We seek local business support through sponsorship, BBQ supplies and donations for prizes. BYRA Sailing & Aquatic Club would like to hear from other community groups about any events they are planning that we can support.
BYRA Sailing & Aquatic Club is a not-for-profit community club run on volunteer power. BYRA celebrates its 75th anniversary in November 2024. We offer a wide range of learnt-to-sail programs for kids & adults. Our excellent value memberships include access to our aquatic park and clubhouse with our stunning waterfront vista.
