Bob Carr and Geraldine Brooks on Grief, Love and Politics
JOIN BOB CARR & PULITZER PRIZE-WINNING AUTHOR GERALDINE BROOKS FOR A SPECIAL EVENING OF CONVERSATION
In his deeply personal new memoir Bring Back Yesterday, Carr steps away from public life to write about the sudden death of his wife, Helena, and the disorienting days and months that followed. It is a candid, unsparing account of grief, memory and a long marriage that shaped his life.
Carr will be in conversation with Geraldine Brooks, whose own recent memoir, Memorial Days, reflects on love, loss and the strange landscape of mourning.
Together they will talk about writing through grief, the private lives behind public roles, and how love endures in memory, language and the stories we tell.
Join us at Bookoccino for a thoughtful and moving evening with two remarkable writers reflecting on life, loss and what remains.
