AN INSPIRING NEW ART EXHIBITION, PART OF THE COUNCIL’S EMERGING CURATOR PROGRAM
Curated by 2025 Emerging Curator recipient Jasmine Stephens, Embodied – A Deaf Perspective celebrates the creativity and unique insights of deaf artists, inviting the community to experience art through a diverse and inclusive lens.
The exhibition explores the intersections of identity, communication, and lived experience, showcasing artworks ranging from multimedia installations to visual pieces, each reflecting the rich narratives within the Deaf community.
Mayor Sue Heins said the exhibition highlights the importance of amplifying diverse voices in the creative sector.
The Emerging Curator Program forms part of Council’s ongoing commitment to nurturing local talent and encouraging a vibrant, accessible arts scene.
Embodied offers audiences a rare opportunity to connect with the authentic experiences of deaf artists and appreciate the power of creativity as a form of expression for all.
