A Future To Believe In: Community Forum
As parents, grandparents, and community members, we all want to ensure our kids grow up in a world that is safe, secure, and full of opportunity. But right now, short-term decision-making is putting their future at risk.
Join Parents for Climate and an incredible panel of speakers for a Community Forum on how we can put future generations at the heart of government decisions. Including music performed by Ruby Rodgers and her dad Ben!
Hear from Dr Sophie Scamps MP on why she introduced The Wellbeing of Future Generations Bill and how it can help secure a stronger, healthier future for Australian families. You’ll also hear from young people, local parents, and community leaders on why planning for the long-term is the best way to protect what we love.
Come along and discover what you can do to help this bill get accepted by federal government. It is a game changer for our kids future, but we need to work together to make it happen.
Speakers:
- Our MC for the afternoon will be – Jamie Durie (Dad, Designer, TV Host and Author)
- Nic Seton (CEO of Parents for Climate) & Taylor Dee Hawkins (Managing Director, Foundations for Tomorrow.org) – on why it takes a public movement to secure the future and how we’ll win.
- Dr. Sophie Scamps MP – Why she introduced The Wellbeing of Future Generations Bill and what it means for our kids.
- Genevieve Smart – local mum and business leader (Genevieve Smart Co.) on the importance of sustainability in all sectors.
- Young local leaders – Angel AS and Róisín T provide a young persons perspective on securing their future.
