Car flips, driver flees, dog squad brought in Narraweena

The dog squad was called in last night as police searched for the driver of a Ute after it crashed and flipped into a front yard under construction in Narraweena overnight.

The vehicle remained flipped near the intersection of McIntosh Road and Waratah Parade in Narraweena and the driver left the scene.

About 12.50am today (Sunday 25 May 2025), police confirmed they were called to Waratah Parade, Narraweena, following reports of a crash.

“Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended and found a ute had crashed into a construction site.”

The driver, who is believed to have been the sole occupant of the vehicle, left the scene prior to the arrival of police.

Manly Observer contacted the business advertised on the flipped over ute. The owner said police have questioned a person who was in the vehicle’s name and have yet to determine whether it was stolen.

The business owner believes the person who owns the vehicle was not involved in the crash.

Police commenced a search of the surrounding area, with assistance from the Dog Squad.

The vehicle was seized for forensic examination.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.”

We have blurred the image of the business advertised on the ute as we do not yet know if the vehicle was stolen or who was driving the vehicle.

More updates to follow.
